Audio is widely used by blind and partially sighted people for reading as well as personal note taking and labelling.

Audio books are generally available on CD and can also be downloaded online.

Where to get audio books

RNIB Talking Book Service

RNIB Talking Book Service provides a subscription based postal service of over 16,000 audio books. The books are in are on CD in the special Daisy format which allows for easy navigation.

Books can also be streamed online using the BookStream service.

Calibre audio library

Calibre provides a free postal service of over 8,000 audio books. The books are provided on CD and are in the MP3 format.

Talking Newspaper association (TNAUK)

TNAUK provides a range of magazines and newspapers on CD.
