Languages

Some people think of braille as a language in itself but it is in fact a code which is used to convert print letters and words for tactile reading.

Braille

Braille is produced in many languages including: Japanese, Chinese, Hebrew, German, Welsh and Russian. Availability in the UK of braille in languages other than English may vary greatly.

RNIB National Library Service has a very limited selection of braille in the following languages: Russian, French, German, Esperanto, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Dutch, Japanese and Latin.

Audio

RNIB produces a selection of audio books in Welsh and Hindi.
